NEW MASS EFFECT GAME ON DISPLAY AT N7 DAY CONVENTION

EDMONTON – Oct. 1 2024 – Nov. 7 is no ordinary day of the year for fans of the beloved Mass Effect video game series, and that is especially true this year, as the long awaited next installation will be on display at the first-ever N7 convention at the Edmonton Convention Center. Mass Effect 4, announced this past week by Edmonton-based developer BioWare, promises to provide new thrilling space adventures, for both returning and new fans.   

 

"N7 Day represents a milestone for both the fans and the development team” said Gary McKay, vice-president and general manager of BioWare. “We've poured our hearts into Mass Effect 4, and sharing this first look at the game with our dedicated community is truly special. We couldn’t think of a better way to honor the legacy of Mass Effect."

The convention, named after a fictional military program key to the games story, is highlighted by a playable demo of the game, giving attendees the exclusive opportunity to experience the stunning visuals and dynamic gameplay that have defined the series. In addition, a presentation will unveil details about the game's story for the very first time, shedding light on new characters, intriguing plot developments, and the choices that will shape the galaxy.

 

BioWare was founded in 1995 in Edmonton, Canada. It quickly gained fame for creating critically acclaimed role-playing games (RPGs) such as the Baldur's Gate series and the Mass Effect franchise, which are celebrated for their deep character development and player choices.

SUPERCRAWL 2025 GOES LIVE WITH EXCLUSIVE SOCIAL MEDIA TAKEOVERS

HAMILTON – Feb. 2 2025 - Supercrawl is bringing the 2025 festival experience directly to fans with a digital event on Feb. 10, 2025. The Supercrawl Digital Countdown will feature a YouTube Live broadcast and an Instagram takeover, offering fans a chance to interact with artists, see behind-the-scenes content, and get a sneak peek of this year’s festival lineup.

 

“We are excited to bring the spirit of Supercrawl directly to our fans ahead of the festival,” said Kent Stevens, festival director. “This event allows us to connect with our audience, offering an inside look at the music and art that will define Supercrawl 2025.” The YouTube Live event, beginning at 7 p.m. ET, will showcase musical performances, behind-the-scenes artist interviews, and Q&A sessions.  At the same time, Supercrawl’s Instagram account will be taken over by the festival’s artists, who will give followers real-time updates, offer glimpses of their preparation, and answer questions.

 

Supercrawl is an annual arts and music festival in Hamilton that celebrates the best of local culture while featuring international talent. The festival brings together music, art, and community in a vibrant celebration of creativity.

Media Kit  

Julian was tasked with developing a media kit for this mock Walmart media conference, utilizing lecture notes from previous classes. The kit was required to include at least four elements, with one being a media release created using Meltwater's PR Assistant. The release had to adhere to Canadian Press (CP) style and journalistic standards. In addition to the media release, he needed to include at least three other original contents, properly formatted, and free of AI-generated material. The media kit had to be well-organized and professionally presented. 

Media Advisory 

This assignment required writing a Media Advisory inviting media to a news conference about a $10 million donation to Jacksontown University. The donation, from philanthropist Peter Elgin, will fund the Elgin Cancer Research Centre. The advisory needed to include key event details, such as the date, time, and location, as well as mention of important attendees like Mr. Elgin and the university's board of directors. The goal was to encourage media attendance without revealing all of the details, while adhering to proper media advisory format and including necessary contact information.
